Shouto thought that, by playing as children, they could stay together. That he can look Sister Kuin in the eye, imply that he knows that not all the kids get to go to good families and expect that they could stay together until they’re old enough to leave the orphanage.

Instead, Izuku was taken, he and Tenya were separated and it will be twenty years until the three of them can lie down in a bed, legs intertwined and hearts connected.

“And this is one of the most promising partners from our firm, Shouto Todoroki,” Hakamata introduced.

Shouto gave a short bow, before looking at his boss’ guests. There was a scruffy looking Male with his hair pulled back in a low ponytail, trailed by a snarling blond and another young man with green hairs, freckles, and- his breath catches upon realizing who it was.

That’s Izuku!

He’s introduced as Mikumo Akatani, lawyer and assistant to one Shouta Aizawa. Shouto doesn’t care, can hardly keep himself from staring at the changes a couple of decades make in the familiar face.

The meeting ends and Shouto isn’t quite sure what was discussed, just that the blond had sneered at him the whole night and Akatani – Izuku – just gave him a smile when he offered drinks at his place later that night.

Once the group from Japan left, Hakatama chuckled. “Are you going sweet on the lawyer?” Shouto… wasn’t quite sure how to answer that. How can you go sweet on a person you’ve been in love with since he was eleven years old?

Tenya is all nervous energy and abortive worries as he waits in Shouto’s penthouse suite. He wants to believe wholeheartedly that Shouto was right and that, after so long, Izuku is back – but he’s grown to be a practical man and it’s that practicality that makes him hesitate, makes him wonder if Shouto wasn’t mistaken, that this “Yakumo” isn’t their Izuku.

Honestly, Shouto is scared, is afraid that maybe he was wrong and that this Akatani isn’t actually Izuku and he’s made a horrible mistake writing his address on the back of his business card. But then his doorbell rings and Tenya is opening the door.

A body slams into him, and it’s suddenly engulfed into a bear hug. Izuku is babbling into Tenya’s broad chest and Tenya is laughing and Shouto feels his heart race at the idea that, after so long, all three of them could be together. He watches Izuku press lips against Tenya’s before he’s pulled into the hug as well and chapped lips are pressed against the bottom of his. Izuku tastes of cigarettes and copper and the electrifying energy that he remembers from liplocks as a child. The three of them are together, and it’s taken years and they’re so different than they were children and nothing could be more perfect than that.
